| Diamond to Construct Performing Arts School |
The Diamond Community School, Inc. located in Palm Bay, Florida will proceed with plans to construct a
Performing Arts school on its existing campus in the fall term. The school, known for its innovative programs,
received a tremendous community support including a recent $100,000 donation from one of its supporters. The
donations and funds raised through community support will be matched by the challenge grant issued by the Eckerd
Family Foundation, Inc.
Celebrating ten years of operation in September, 2004, Diamond Community School has pioneered several
innovative educational programs during its past nine years. The Performing Arts Center construction project
will be the first of its kind among private schools in the county. The center will promote positive youth
development through improved academic performance, positive social behavior, the use of technology as a workforce
development tool and the development of skill necessary for self-directed personal management.
The Performing Arts program will feature both vocal and instrumental music along with drama and pantomime.
In addition, the Fine and Industrial Arts educational project will feature vocational and technology training
for its students and residents of the community.
"I believe that children can benefit from the inclusion of the arts as a part of their
learning experience", says Dr. Doreatha J. Fields, the school's Founder and Executive Director.
In response to the needs of the community, Dr. Fields says, "The community will be fortunate to
have an opportunity to have resources and support services to bridge the digital divide that
exists in many households. Parents will be able to learn alongside their children. This
intergenerational educational opportunity will serve as a tremendous boost to the future of children, youth and families".
The school has raised 81% of the $140,000 challenge issued by the Eckerd Family Foundation. The Board of Directors and
Founder are positive and optimistic that the remaining $26,000 will be raised on or before the challenge grant deadline
in January, 2005.
Any persons, organizations or corporations who are interested in donating toward the Fine & Industrial Arts
Educational project may call the school at (321) 727-9436 or send email to diamondschool1@aol.com for more information.
All donations are tax-deductible and mail be mailed to Diamond Community School, Inc, P. O. Box 60534, Palm Bay, Florida 32906-0534.

| Diamond Community School Receives $10,000 Donation From Boeing Employees |
The award was presented to the school's board of directors by Dennis Bald, president of the employee-run nonprofit organization in Titusville.
"All of the funds are monthly deductions from Boeing employees participating in the program," he said. "Giving back to the community - being
responsible community citizens - is what we like to do."
The contribution will be used to fund Project SHIELD (Supplying Healthy Intervention for Emotions, Learning & Development), a school-sponsored
academic and social intervention program for children and families.
Dr. Doreatha J. Fields, founder and executive director of Diamond, said the project expands the school's mission to be a safety net for children
at risk of school failure. "While Diamond provides a safe learning environment for children during school hours, it cannot shield them from harsh
situations they may encounter in the outside world," she said. "Project SHIELD will help children build an emotional and psychological barrier to
deflect the impact of negative situations. It will help them channel their emotions into more positive actions."
She praised the Boeing Employee Community Fund for its commitment to the community.
"What a great example of community service. This donation shows the care and concern Boeing employees have for Brevard County and its residents," she said.
Diamond Community School, Inc. was founded in 1995 and is accredited by the Florida Council of Private Schools. The school serves students in
pre-kindergarten to eighth grades.
