| Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser |
A Chili Cook-Off will be held on September 18, 2010 and we need cooks, supplies, and lots of help serving and cleaning up. Parents that would like to participate are asked to come out and cook up a big batch of their best chili (donating all supplies and labor). We'll sell it and donate the money to the playground project. This is a special challenge to Diamond Dads. Diamond Moms though, don't feel left out.You're welcome to show your stuff too!
If you don't want to cook, there will be plenty of ways to help out. We're hoping to get 10-20 families to cook up 50-100 servings of chili. If we max our efforts we can make a hefty contribution to the playground fund.Call Randy Smallwood for more details and to volunteer: 321-724-5784

| HAPPY 15TH BIRTHDAY TO DIAMOND!!! |
We will be celebrating with pizza and cake on Friday, September 10, 2010. Children do not need to bring in lunch that day. We are asking each student to bring in $3 by Wednesday September 8th.

| New Playground Coming to Diamond Community School! |
|
Our school will be receiving a brand new playground thanks to the Harris Corporation, the Orlando Magic and non-profit KaBOOM!. Harris Corp and the Magic are providing nearly all of the funding for the playground project and KaBOOM! will show us how to build the playground in a single day. The project will kick off with a Design Day in early Sept. in which children from Diamond will spend time drawing their dream playgrounds and we'll actually incorporate those drawings into the final playground to be built in one day on Nov. 19. We're looking for volunteers to help us with all aspects of the project! No experience is necessary! | BACK-TO-SCHOOL UPDATES |
Welcome to our RETURNING and NEW students. We are looking forward to a GREAT 2010-2011 School Year! We have planned a wonderful year for you.
SCHOOL HOURS. This year's school hours are 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The school doors will be opened at 8:15 a.m. Students arriving after 8:30 a.m. will ne consider TARDY.
School dismissal is at 3:00 p.m. LATE FEES will be assessed after 3:10 p.m.
SCHOOL LUNCH. Parents and Students are reminded tto bring your home-pasked lunch to school each day. Lunches must the "ready to eat". NO MICROWAVEABLE items. For your child's safety there should ne NO GLASS containers.
UNIFORMS. If you have not ordered your uniforms, you much call the school office at 321-727-9436. Remember all student must have unifrom tops and the black bottoms of choice.
More information will be available regarding uniforms after the first week of school.
TRANSPORTATION. Applications for transportation must be filed by August 6th. Transportation services must be pre-arranged and payment is due the Friday BEFORE the week of services. CONTACT THE SCHOOL OFFICE FOR MORE INFORMATION.
PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE (PAC). We are pleased to announce that Ms. Jermain Combs is the chairperson for the Diamnd PAC. She has some great ideas to get parents involved and will be getting to know you, personally.
